The Remembrance: I’ll take it Bold or Smooth

I'll get MCDonald's to pay me for this free advertisement

My Air Asia flight AK 6328 Kota Bharu bound was scheduled at 20:20 on Saturday the 15th.

Delayed, yet again.

I didn’t mind a little late because I had nothing to rush for anyway.

Since it was delayed and rescheduled to 21:25 instead, I decided to kill my time at McDonald’s in LCCT.

The taste of the coffee was not that meritoriously great but I am a type that fond of old memories. My "Kopi Cap Kapal Api" prepared by my girl Fara is actually way better, or even I won't trade for anything when it comes to "Kopi Cap Badak" when I was little – hell of a great locally roasted coffee.

The pleasure of entertaining thoughts supercedes the taste. I would reflect over thousands of memories in my every sip of it.

The look of the cup has got its own story to tell.

The lid with bulge of “Decaf” and “Other” and perforated tear-off on it brought back memories of decades old.

The spatula – what can I say, the design never had changed in yonks.

The sugar – creamer – hey, only at McDonald’s my coffee goes with the creamer.

The steamy cloud came out of it led me to the unknown territory of my own ponder.

The smell – refreshing – uplifting – made me forgot about Starbucks for a moment.

My Fillet-O-Fish – it’s not the best combination in the world to go with my coffee, but what the heck.

The influx of recollections came into my head were unrelenting – unremitting – inexorable.

Tens if not hundreds of people were around me – come and go. But, I wasn't deterred by the mass.

Ahhhh… I’m a junkie of old things. Here

KC --> Part and parcel of me writing quite frequently in my blog is due to the downm of our community forum... weheheheh. And of course, I feel like it to write and I have time in hand too.

SIMAH --> Good to see you back. I've been fllowing your progress through your blog closely. Hopefully by now after the passing of your Baba, things quietly creeping back to normal. And hopefully by now Hatice managed to take the blow gently. Have a good life Simah and Selamat Aidil Adha.

TOK MUDIM --> Doc, that shows the effect on the down of our community portal, to bring you not just reading my blog but leaving traces too. hehehehe. Nice of you. I can't promise you to be at your house in Taman Guru, Kota Bharu but one thng for sure, I'd wish you Selamat Aidil Adha. I'll bump into you in our Saujana Utama any time soon.

TUN --> You were the first person I sent message after my touchdown and reached my mom's house. hehehe Banjir has never given me bad impression, is always nice to me. Love it. Kopi Cap Hang Tuah is still around TUN. Not too good as compared to Cap Kapal Api.

NJ --> According to reports, the road leading to Kuala Krai from Gua Musang, the essential road to pass to get to Kota Bharu, are closed for traffics. Apart from water, there had been landslides and potholes on the road too. My area in suburb Kota Bharu is OK, until I missed what the real banjir is and had a drive over in Pasir Mas and Tanah Merah to bring back memories of flood.

ARZOO --> Like I said, banjir has never have given me bad impression and never deterred us from celebrating to the max. And Aidil Adha in Kelantan is rather different as compared to any other states in Malaysia. Meriah!!!

NIDE --> I must say, that's the joke intended to Siti Nurhaliza when being asked by trhe stewardess on how she likes to have her coffee, the time she boarded the plane. She answered "In the cup"... You naughty, naughty NIDE....

KOPI O --> You are somehow my favourite KOPI as far as KOPI that not kopi is concerned. hehehe. And my pleasant surprise to know you as my neighbour in Saujana Utama last Raya still leave some elements of surprise in me until today. Nice, and you've been nice with your words here in my blog for years. Thank you. And back to McD thing...yeah... I need to forward this entry to the management of McD. hehehe

Hi Gab, 21 years in Canada I've only had 1 cup of McDonald's coffee, ha ha. Been to McDonalds only 3 times too, only because meet friends.
When we came here we brought Ipoh coffee, even local coffee from Trengganu, but after one year lost the taste and switched to either Nescafe of Maxwell house.
I drink 4 cups a day and must have one before going to sleep. No coffee, cannot sleep. After makan mesti minum kopi, ha ha...iced of course. Ha ha. Lee.

IBU --> That Kopi Cap Kapal Api is originally from Indonesia (or may be using the formula & recipe frm Indonesia). To me it is a good coffee. But having stayed in Indonesia for quite sometme when I was stationed there + open up business there, I have tasted the best coffee in the world. Theirs are way, way better than any other coffee I've ever tasted.

Lee --> You are officially "Hantu Kopi" wehehehehe. Can't help it when you are suffering from caffeine addiction. Me too, love coffee, either coffee coffee, Nescafe, Maxwell Hse, IndoCafe, any blend & roast available in the market, you name it.

ZAFI --> I chanced upon reading your blog. It's nice. I will add you to my fav list and I'll be there every now and then. Thanks for coming here.

Kopi Cap Badak has its market span not too wide I supposed. Locally roasted and blended in Ketereh and Melor area in Kelantan. I doubt about it if it has ever crossed Kubang Kerian in Kelantan, let alone Kota Bharu. I'll be amazed if the ones outside Kelantan said he's tatsed it before. Anyway, the coffee was nice.
